4th of July Fireworks around Olympia WA

4th of July Fireworks around Olympia WA

I can't believe that this weekend is already the 4th of July! Where was our spring? Anyhow, I guess it is time to face facts and start planning for the holiday weekend. First order of business? Finding local fireworks displays around Olympia. Here are a few of our favorites:

Sunday, July 3

Capital Development Company sponsors the annual South Sound Center Independence Day Celebration! Come out to South Sound Center on Sleater Kinney Rd. Sunday evening for a great display of fireworks. This annual event is in its 45th year and continues to enjoy huge success each year. Plan ahead and reserve your vantage point early, or you might have to watch the show while you drive around looking for parking.

The South Sound Center fireworks show will begin at approximately 10:15 but entertainment will begin as early as 5:30 p.m. The show typically lasts about 20 minutes.

Monday, July 4

Don't want to clean up after hosting the 4th of July party? No problem. Instead, invite your guests to join you in Tumwater for the 10th annual Tumwater Artesian Festival and Thunder Valley Fireworks Show.

The day actually kicks off at 11:00 a.m. with the 24th annual Independence Day Celebration Parade. The parade begins at the intersection of Capitol Blvd. and Lee St. and proceeds south on Capitol Blvd until it heads west on Israel Rd. past City Hall.

The 4th of July celebration in Tumwater continues later in the evening as the Tumwater Valley Golf Course driving range transforms into a launch pad for a dazzling display of booming fireworks. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. for the event, with parking available on E St. at the entrance to Tumwater Valley. Bounce houses, games and toys for the kids along with plenty of great entertainment and refreshments. Make sure to get there early to stake out your spot. Last year's event drew over 8,000 people!

I love this great city of Olympia,WA, But now I'm not so sure, for the very reason We have PRIDE PARADE FOR THE GAYS, CINCO Dimo Month, We block off roads so people can run, BUT WE CAN"T CELEBRATE a AMERICAN holiday { THE 4TH OF JULY }, there's no parade, no fireworks, I being a vet find this city being very prejudice against American holidays.
