Sand in the City 2011 in Olympia

With the beginning of a new school year just around the corner, this weekend makes a perfect time to kick back and play in the sand. Now if only Olympia had some sand...

Not to worry, the Hands on Children's Museum has it covered. 240 tons of sand will be dumped at Port Plaza, just behind Anthony's Homeport Restaurant, where over 200 competitors will work their magic and create sand castles fit for royalty. What I'm talking about is Sand in the City®.
