Thursday, 7/14 - Coronation Day

Thursday is when the Lakefair Royal Court takes to the stage for the Coronation of this year's Queen. Come out to the Lakefair Stage from 7-8:30 p.m. and meet the representatives from local schools and see if you can guess who will be crowned 2011 Lakefair Queen! Also happening Thursday is Wristband Day. For those of you who are carnival ride enthusiasts you'll want to keep Thursday afternoon clear on your calendar. Saturday, 7/16 - Parade Day

Saturday's is probably the busiest day at Lakefair, with the main attraction being the Lakefair Grand Parade at 5 p.m.. Grab a seat along Capitol Way or 5th Ave and check out the colorful floats, local dance groups & marching bands, and a host of other entertaining groups as they make their way through town. After the parade you can head over to the Lakefair stage and watch Idol on the Lake, a signing competition put on by Little Creek Casino and Resort. The finalists perform from 7-9 p.m. and compete for the title of South Sound Idol and $500 cash. Several other activities are ongoing during Saturday at Lakefair. The annual Lakefair volleyball tournament kicks off up at Capitol Campus, the Lakefair 8k & 3k Road Races take place around Capitol Lake, the Les Schwab Kit Car Race burns rubber down Capitol Way, and Sylvester Park plays host to Kids Day - a free event from 12-4 featuring bounce houses, face painting, music, and lots of other activities just for kids.

Sunday, 7/17 - Fireworks Night

Things mellow back out a bit on Sunday at Lakefair as people come back to get one last elephant ear and hopefully enjoy some nice weather. The Lakefair volleyball continues on Sunday, as does the live music and entertainment on the main Lakefair Stage. But the main attraction on Sunday at Lakefair is definitely the closing ceremony....the Lakefair Fireworks Show. People often ask why there isn't a big firework show in Olympia for 4th of July, well this is why. Olympia celebrates its independence on its own day! How's that for a true Independence Day celebration! Kidding aside, the Lakefair Fireworks are always impressive and they get started at about 10:00 on Sunday night.
